Nokia N900

Nokia announced the next phase in the evolution of Maemo software with the new Nokia N900
The open source, Linux-based Maemo software delivers a PC-like experience on a handset-sized device


The Nokia N900 has evolved from Nokia's previous generation of Internet Tablets. Running on the new Maemo 5 software, the Nokia N900 can have multiple application windows open and running simultaneously while accesing the cellular features, touch screen and QWERTY keyboard


Maemo complements Nokia's other software platforms, such as Symbian, which powers Nokia's smartphones.

The Nokia N900 packs an ARM Cortex-A8 processor, up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration

The phone features a WVGA touch screen and internet connectivity with 10/2 HSPA and WLAN and a Mozilla Web browser. It also comes with full Adobe Flash 9.4 support. It has a full physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
The Nokia N900 has 32GB of storage, which is expandable up to 48GB via a microSD card. It has 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics
The Nokia N900 will be available in select markets from October 2009 with an estimated retail price of EUR 500 excluding sales taxes and subsidies.

The company had earlier released the DataTraveler 200, a 128 GB USB flash drive

HTC Tattoo

HTC Corporation introduced the HTC Tattoo, an Android-based phone with broad personalisation options.
HTC Tattoo is the second phone to embody HTC Sense

Users will able to design and purchase their own unique covers or search and select from popular cover designs to alter the look of the phone according to their preferences.


HTC Tattoo integrates Google's mobile services including: Google Maps, search, Google Mail, and Android market where users can download applications and games.



It also a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera, 3.5mm stereo headset jack and expandable microSD memory.

Windows Mobile 6.5 new Software






















  • Microsoft is giving its operating system for smart phones a new look. The world's largest software maker said that phones running the next version of Windows Mobile will hit store shelves worldwide on October 6.

  • Windows Mobile 6.5, as the new system is called, has an updated look that brings Microsoft's offering more in line with competitors such as Research in Motion's BlackBerry and Apple's iPhone.

  • Windows Mobile 6.5 includes a new version of its Internet Explorer browser for phones, and changes that make it easier to use on touch-screen devices.

  • Microsoft also has developed a free service called My Phone that lets people synchronise text messages, contacts, photos and other phone data on the Internet, where it can be edited or transferred to a new phone

  • Microsoft is also launching a mobile application store akin to Apple's store for iPhone apps on iTunes

  • Microsoft is betting the updated smart phone system will lure more consumers while still appealing to the corporate technology gurus who like the way it works with company e-mail servers. (AP)

Nokia X6


Nokia X6 is the latest edition to Nokia's touch-screen device portfolio. It is a 'Comes With Music' device, providing unlimited access to the Nokia Music Store.

The phone comes with a 5 megapixel camera with Carl-Zeiss optics and has built-in features to edit videos, show them on TV or online. The 3.2-inch 16:9 display fits 20 shortcuts onto a personalised home screen.
